CASE STUDY - BRITISH COUNCIL

Britishcouncil CaseStudy

The British Council is the UK’s International Organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations and has offices in more than 100 countries worldwide.   MOD Streaming’s first event for the British Council was in 2011 and we remain their first port of call for any live streaming events.   We live stream internal communications events – management meetings from the head office in London out to managers globally, with custom branded sites built by us, With interactivity key to the success of these meetings, viewers are able to ask questions live and the London team able to gauge audience reaction by including live polling to the online audience.

We also stream external events to thousands of viewers globally, streaming via YouTube and/or the British Council website.  MOD Streaming manage all aspects of the AV set up and the live streaming and ensure all offices worldwide are able to view and take part in each live webcast.

Example – MOD Streaming helped British Council celebrate Shakespeare’s 400th anniversary year in 2016 with an event which marked the first performance of Shakespeare’s play Twelfth Night: Or What You Will. The evening consisted of a performance lecture from Professor David Crystal, a renowned British linguist, guest actors and musicians from his Passion in Practice Shakespeare Ensemble. MOD Streaming provided a multicamera shoot and an audio setup consisting of 15 microphones to capture all performers on stage. The event was held at Middle Temple Hall in London where the first recorded performance of Twelfth Night took place on 2nd February 1602.  The evening was broadcast live to You Tube in HD and watched by thousands of viewers all over the world.

Austen Mason, Online Internal Communications Manager, The British Council,

“The British Council works in over 100 countries globally, so it can be a real challenge to engage with our employees across the organisation. Providing live web broadcasts has allowed all our staff worldwide the opportunity to see, hear and ask questions of our management team about issues that are important to them. Without the professional service and advice offered by MOD Streaming it would have been difficult to achieve this. Due to the positive feedback we have received from staff and management these broadcasts are now an integral part of our communications plan and we look forward to continuing our work with MOD Streaming.”
